Dr. Jamie Sands
Born and raised in Beverly Hills, Dr. Sands has spent more than twenty years helping patients from across Los Angeles enjoy beautiful and healthy smiles.
A graduate of the University of California, San Diego and the University of the Pacific Dental School with high honors, Dr. Sands is certified by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, the American Academy of Cosmetic Orthodontists, and the American Academy of Dentists and has taught at the USC School of Dentistry.
Dr. Sands completed additional studies to specialize in TMJ and occlusion, including a one-year residency in occlusion (understanding and diagnosing bite issues) in Texas. In addition to her specialized understanding of occlusion and aesthetic dentistry, Dr. Sands remains abreast of all current and upcoming practices and techniques, continuously expanding her knowledge and areas of expertise via hundreds of hours of CE a year.
Dr. Sands has shared her expertise on CNN, Fox 11 Los Angeles, The Doctors, and programs on the E! Entertainment Television Network. She has also been named one of LA’s Top Dentists by Los Angeles Magazine for 5 consecutive years.
Away from the office, Dr. Sands volunteers her services at Care Harbor/LA Free Clinic, the Children’s Dental Center of Greater Los Angeles, MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity), and Give Back A Smile, where she helps domestic violence survivors with cosmetic dentistry. She is also an avid painter, sculptor, yoga practitioner, and marathon runner.
Dr. Charlotte Etesse
Dr. Charlotte Etesse is a warm and compassionate general dentist born and raised in Studio City. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Physiology and chose to continue her dental education there, receiving a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry. She graduated Cum Laude and received several departmental and specialty awards, including being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) national dental honors society. She then furthered her post-doctoral education by completing a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Long Beach. Her residency trained her in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry and provided her with specialty training in medically-compromised patients and implant therapy.
Beyond her clinical and academic achievements, patients mostly know Dr. Etesse for her caring nature and friendly personality. She has a gentle, conservative approach to dentistry with emphasis on preventative treatments and makes her patients’ comfort a priority. She enjoys staying ahead of current dental trends and actively seeks opportunities to continue her education. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Western Los Angeles Dental Society.
In her free time, Dr. Etesse enjoys being active, searching for the next best restaurant, and traveling. She continues to give back to her community through volunteer events. She also enjoys perfecting her art of dentistry through continuing education courses.
Dr. Marilia Ryan
Dr. Marilia Ryan was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. She attended the University of Notre Dame where she received a Bachelor of Science. Moving East, Dr. Ryan completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine while also obtaining a Master of Arts in Science and Dental Education at the Columbia University Teachers College.
At Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Ryan graduated top of her class with the highest honors and distinctions from multiple departments and was inducted into the renowned international dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU). After dental school, Dr. Ryan moved to Los Angeles where she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At UCLA, Dr. Ryan gained further training on the treatment of complex and medically-compromised patients, requiring full-mouth rehabilitation and implant therapy.
Dr. Ryan is described by her patients as caring, compassionate, and extremely meticulous as she strives to provide nothing short of excellent care to all her patients. With her background in teaching, Dr. Ryan values patient communication, education, and preventive dentistry. She strongly believes that it is the dentist’s duty to educate patients on their oral health status and help them make an informed decision regarding the proper treatment options available.
Dr. Ryan speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish fluently. Outside of the office, she enjoys drawing, cooking, traveling, and exploring LA. Dr. Ryan is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Western Los Angeles Dental Society and stays current with the latest advancements in the field through continuing education courses and scientific literature.
Dr. Dmitriy Ivanov
Dr. Ivanov is a specialist in periodontics with a focus on the treatment of periodontal disease, hard and soft tissue augmentation and dental implantology. He has received extensive training in all aspects of periodontics, providing patients with a healthy and aesthetically pleasing smile. He is also trained in moderate IV sedation, helping the most anxious patients receive excellent periodontal care.
He is a member of Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the California Society of Periodontics.
Dr. Ivanov received his Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from UC Santa Barbara, graduating with Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors). He was awarded a D.D.S. degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry and continued his post-doctoral education in advanced periodontics and implant dentistry residency at the Veterans Hospital of West Los Angeles/UCLA Medical Center. His residency had an emphasis on medically-compromised patients, full-mouth rehabilitation patients, interdisciplinary perio-prosthodontics reconstructive therapy and full-arch implant treatment.
Dr. Ivanov holds a position as a clinical instructor of periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry in Westwood and the UCLA Venice Dental Clinic. Dr. Ivanov is a Los Angeles native and outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys life with his young family. His hobbies are camping, fitness, cooking and music. He is fluent in English and Russian.
Dr. Glenn Vallecillos
Dr. Vallecillos is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon serving clients both locally and globally. As Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, with a comprehensive background in plastic and reconstructive procedures, Dr. Vallecillos has a practice emphasis in facial detailing, body contouring, and breast revision.
After completing an undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Vallecillos underwent his clinical training at St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal Medical College in London. Continuing, Dr. Vallecillos then trained in general surgery at Ann Arbor’s St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, and completed his fellowship training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Providence & St. John’s Medical Center.
Dr. Vallecillos is an active speaker and a regular contributor to esteemed publications such as the European Journal of Plastic Surgery. He also provides continuing medical education training to physicians and surgeons throughout the United States. He works as a clinical investigator for Mentor Corporation, and Allergan Inc. and is the Chief Treating Investigator for the Coapt Systems Novielle Injectable Filler Study.
Our boutique Studio City office was personally designed by Dr. Sands and brought to life by award-winning architect John Reed. The facility features high-tech treatment rooms, dedicated in-house sterilization stations, flat screen TVs, music, and headphones to help patients relax, and fresh pillows and blankets for patient comfort during longer treatment sessions.
Dr. Sands regularly volunteers her time with MEND (Meet Each Need With Dignity) and Give Back A Smile, in association with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, where she helps domestic violence survivors reclaim new smiles and self-esteem through free cosmetic dental work.
Maria is a mother of three and one of the five million Americans who experience domestic violence annually. As the result of a domestic dispute, Maria lost a front and side tooth, making it difficult for her to find work as going for a job interview became nerve-wracking and stressful.
With no financial support, Maria struggled to provide for her children. She was referred to Dr. Sands by the Give Back A Smile program and she received two dental implants allowing her to smile with confidence. Maria received her new smile in 2015 and has now entered the workforce.
